قال صندوق الثروة السيادية البحريني (ممتلكات) إن خسائره السنوية ارتفعت في العام الماضي إلى 718 مليون دولار، وعزا الخسائر إلى الصعوبات التي تواجهها شركة طيران الخليج.


وأضاف بيان للصندوق أن خسائره في العام الماضي وصلت إلى 270.6 مليون دينار (717.7 مليون دولار) بالمقارنة مع 234.3 مليون دينار (621.3 مليون دولار) في 2010.

وقال الصندوق -الذي يعتبر الشركة القابضة لعدة شركات حكومية بحرينية- إن طيران الخليج منيت بخسائر تشغيلية كبيرة في العام الماضي بسبب الوضع الجيوسياسي في المنطقة وارتفاع تكلفة الوقود.
